  6. Shockwave Installation

  8. If you encounter trouble installing the shockwave plug-in on your Macintosh,
  9. when ending with a sentence like:
  10.  
  11.     Shockwave is not properly installed.
  12.     Do you want to visit Macromedia Web site
  13.     to download le latest Shockwave Installer?
  14.  
  15. Here's the step sequence for a workaround:
  16.  
  17. 1- In Finder's File menu, select Find item (Command F).
  18. 2- Type "Shockwave" (without brackets) and click "OK".
  19. 3- Select all Shockwave files and move them to Trash.
  20. 4- Run Shockwave Installer.
  21.  
  22. This should solve the problem.

  25. Program freezes at 40%
  26. --------------------------
  27. This is simply that Java is not installed or enabled.
  28.  
  29. Make sure you have Java installed and enabled on your machine.
  30. MRJ -MacOS Runtime for Java- comes with Apple's MacOS 8.1 or later.

  34. If you don't have it already, download the latest version (2.24)
  35. which was released on January 18th, 2001.

  37. Mac OS Runtime for Java (MRJ) 2.2.4 is an upgrade to MRJ 2.2.3 which
  38. addresses a security issue affecting users. In some cases, this would
  39. have permitted unauthorized applets to access the local hard drive.

  44. If you are using a Windows 2000, images may not appear during the presentation.The Dermatology Step by Step does not function satisfactorily on Windows 2000.
  45. We recommend using an earlier version of Windows either 95 or 98.
